In the beautiful surroundings of Rimske Terme, indulge in the pleasures of the healing water from the depths of the Amalia and the Roman spring. Hospitality technology helps hoteliers inform guests about the best that tradition and modernity have to offer. The resort consists of 3 hotels.

 

Hotel Sofijin dvor**** superior is furnished in a classic style of timeless elegance. It offers 43 luxuriously furnished single and double rooms and hotel suites. All rooms are equipped with LCD TV, telephone, mini bar, safe, air conditioning, and Internet connection. 

 

Hotel Rimski dvor**** superior is located between Hotel Sofijin dvor **** superior and Hotel Zdraviliški dvor. Its terraces descend like a green string and create a great environment for relaxation and creation of new ideas. We have 68 double rooms and suites for you. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom (shower), toilet, LCD TV, telephone, mini bar, safe, air conditioning and Internet connection.

 

Hotel Zdraviliški dvor **** has 76 single and double rooms and suites for energizing yourself.

The challenge

 

 

Modernizing an old TV system in a hotel can be a complex process, especially when multiple buildings are involved. Providing top-class entertainment with an innovative technology solution while maintaining the existing TV system and existing network was a challenge for hotel management. 

 

In 2017 hotel management invited the Nevron team to help maintain and support the existing IPTV system and advise how the TV system can be improved. Based on expertise and vast competences in IPTV business, Nevron team found the right solution and suggested further development of their existing system to meet the hotel's needs. By utilizing their knowledge of IPTV technology and understanding the hotel's specific requirements, we were able to tailor a solution that would work seamlessly with the existing infrastructure while also providing an upgraded viewing experience for guests.

 

 

 

The solution

 

 

In this case, the solution was to add a new IPTV system in one building while maintaining the existing one in another two buildings. We provided support and guidance throughout the process, from the initial planning stages to the final implementation.

 

The IT team at the hotel reconfigured the DHCP to route the new devices to the new server while keeping the existing devices on the existing IPTV system. This will allow the hotel to gradually phase out the old system and replace it with the new one.

 

One of the key advantages of this approach is that it allows the hotel to keep existing devices and TVs while gradually upgrading to new ones. In this case, the hotel purchased 43 set-top boxes Luxury (STBs) for upgrading TVs in Hotel Sofijin dvor**** superior in 2017. Later they have been buying smart TVs that are compatible with the Nevron IPTV system, eliminating the need to purchase additional STBs. This approach also allowed the hotel to save costs by avoiding the need to replace all their devices at once. 

 

Additionally, by using a complete IPTV system, the hotel could show all hotel services and show hotel promo videos, advertising the hotel offer and improving the overall guest experience. Nevron Middleware was also integrated with the Laser Line PMS, which supports FIAS standard so integration was quick and easy.

 

Now it is planned to gradually substitute all old TVs in Hotel Rimski dvor**** superior and Hotel Zdraviliški dvor **** with Smart TVs which are compatible with the Nevron IPTV system. 

 

 

By incorporating the latest advances in hospitality technology and interactive hotel TV system into guest management strategies, Rimske Terme Spa and Business hotel in Slovenia is now able to provide up-to-date information on the best deals for their guests – improving customer satisfaction and bookings alike.
